Design for a mind

Start off with a design for an organism:
  • Situate it in an "environment"
  • Give it -- or define it as -- a "body"
  • Provide the body with a number of modes of input (fuel and signals) and output (waste and behaviors)
So far, this fits perfectly the behaviourist model, in which the organism is simply a black box. But, since we're trying to design the organism, we need to design that box itself -- so we need to come up with the processing that will derive behaviors from signals (ignoring fuel and waste). Call this the Control System (or CS).
